Connection blocked because of copyright
A copyright infringement was reported on your connection. This page explains what to do now.
What happened
A copyright infringement was reported on your connection, for example offering copyrighted content on a file-sharing network. You were informed of this by email. This is not a virus block — only the cease-and-desist form unblocks this reason.
Why we block
The connection stays blocked until the matter is formally resolved. You cannot unblock it yourself via netstat or the hotline.
How to fix it
-
Contact your network mentor
Get in touch with the network mentor in your dormitory and ask for the cease-and-desist declaration form (Unterlassungserklärung).
-
Fill in and sign the form
Fill in the cease-and-desist declaration and sign it.
-
Submit the form
Send the signed declaration to the Studierendenwerk address printed on the form, or drop it off in person.
How to unblock it
Technical support unblocks your connection once the Studierendenwerk has confirmed receipt of the declaration. For this block reason, you cannot unblock via your account or the hotline.
