Connection blocked

Your connection was blocked because a device on it is disrupting the network. Here is how you unblock it.

A connection is blocked when a device on it disrupts the network or violates the network policy. Once you have fixed the cause, you can unblock it yourself.

Unblock your connection

You can unblock it in two ways:

  • via your account with the username and password of your internet account
  • by phone on 0228 / 28627252 — an automated diagnosis runs around the clock and tells you whether and why your connection is blocked. A member of staff is also available Mondays and Thursdays, 1 pm to 2 pm

Which reason is in your block email?

  • Virus infection – a device is sending viruses or spam. → Clean the infected device
  • Copyright infringement – a rights holder reported a violation. → What to do now
  • Other reasons – for example a violation of the network policy. → see below

Other reasons

A connection is also blocked if it violates the network policy or causes a serious disruption such as a DoS attack. In that case, contact technical support to get it unblocked.
